I am trying to analyze app revenue in Japan.

Is the "Store Revenue" seen on the compare page including or excluding tax? (Japanese consumption tax)

Also, what is the difference between this and the "Total Revenue" seen in the Portfolio Analysis?

Hi @koya,

Government tax not included here; revenue net of the 30% platform commission that goes to the iOS or Google Play stores. (Our models continuously monitor the store revenue percentage made by App Stores and automatically adjust store revenue estimates if that percentage changes.)Total Revenue is the exact revenue pulled from their connections. (Aggregation of Sales, In-App Purchases and Ad). Store Revenue is the revenue pulled from our methodology minus the commission.

As seen in the Portfolio Analysis, total revenue is the revenue pulled from your connections. (Aggregation of Sales, In-App Purchases and Ad). This is your first-party data and is only visible if your apps are connected.

Store revenue is the revenue from data.ai estimates based on our methodology. This includes in-app purchases only, does not include government tax, and is minus the commission to the app stores.

Best,

Emily
